Do I need to be a US Citizen to receive an EIN?

No, we can help your company apply for an EIN regardless of your US citizenship or residency status. You don't even need a US tax id (SSN or ITIN). However, the IRS's online EIN application system is not available to applicants who are not US citizens, so applications from non-citizens must be submitted through the fax system. The fax system can take significantly longer so be prepared to wait approximately 45 business days.
