Company Summary

Zonful Energy is a for-profit social enterprise distributing and selling modular PV solar home systems (SHS). It designs, markets and installs the systems and productive appliances to off-grid areas in urban, peri-urban and rural households in Zimbabwe on a Pay As You Go (PAYG) platform, a method that requires the customer to pay an initial deposit and progressively pay towards both energy access and asset ownership which makes the model special.

    Graduated with a B.Sc. Civil Engineering Degree and a postgraduate Diploma in Business Administration and has over 20 years working experience. He has founded several companies amongst which include Hume Pipe and Co., Factel Industries and Lighmart Investments where he has acquired valuable working experience and skills. He has experience in leadership management, strategic planning and analysis.

  • James Carnegie
    Co-founder and Projects Officer

    Has over 25 years of development experience, mainly in Africa, with an emphasis on the rural poor. This began in agriculture and has widened into livelihoods in natural resource management and rural development. His recent work has focused on private sector development, mainly in agribusiness and renewable energy across Africa, based first in Kenya and now in Zimbabwe, working for KPMG International Development Advisory Services.

    Chief Finance Officer

    Has an ACCA (Association of Chartered Certified Accountants)
    qualification and has a pending Masters in Business Administration. He has over 20 years working experience and has worked at Factel Water Industries
    as a Chief Finance Officer as well as Tudor House Consultancy as a Financial Controller.

  • Chief Operations Officer

    Graduated with B.Sc. Honors degree in Accounting at Chinhoyi University of Technology. Worked in the finance department for three years, with ZETDC, Eighty eight group of companies and Zonful Energy. Vongai has experience in use of various accounting software packages and in financial analysis.

  • Procurement and Logistics Manager

    Holds a National Diploma in Purchasing Supply and Advanced Diploma with the Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply. He has 8 years of working experience. John has worked as a buyer at Tongaat Hullet Zimbabwe and administrator at the Ministry of Higher and Tertiary Education.

  • Nyasha Hwata
    Head of Business Development and Marketing.

    Holds a BSC Economics and an Executive Certificate with the University of Zimbabwe. Business development expert with a demonstrated history of working in marginalized communities. Strong in finance professional skilled in Statistics, Research, Management, and Customer Service. Nyasha has over 8 years working experience. He has worked with Interfin Bank as a payments officer, as well as Business Development Officer at Maendeleo and Associates.

  • Head of Call Center and Customer Operations

    Holds a B.Sc. Honors Degree in Human Resource Management and is a member of the Institute of People Management of Zimbabwe. Tariro worked as an intern at Ok Zimbabwe. She later on joined Telecel Zimbabwe where she started off as a graduate trainee and was later appointed to Human Resources Business Partner position. She has vast experience in the Telecommunications sector.

  • Marketing Manager.

    Graduated with a BComm Honors Degree in Marketing Management at Midlands State University. Worked as an intern at Alrich Electrical and Hardware.

  • Human Resources and Administration Manager.

    Attained an Honors degree in Business Management and majored in Finance at Midlands State University. Worked as an intern at JHM Microfinance. Thandeka has experience in micro lending in financially secluded markets particularly rural areas.

  • Sharon Yeti
    Finance Officer.

    Graduated with a higher diploma with the Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators in Zimbabwe. She is currently finishing up a Business Management Degree with Africa University. Worked as an Accounting Assistant and an Accountant for the Zimbabwe Electoral Commission from 2010-2017.She has a lot of experience in the management of books of accounts and many other finance duties.

  • IT Systems Administrator.

    Graduated with a B.Sc. Honors degree in Engineering at the University of Zimbabwe and studied Java Programming with School of Java. Worked as Marketing and Sales personnel and as an Estimator as well as IT assistant at Nash Paints. She has experience in setting up and monitoring the operations and maintenance of a computer system.
