Arnold is the author of the U.S. DOE study, “Fuel from the Sky for the Sky.” In 2005, Arnold founded SkyFuel. Its parabolic trough used a mirror film instead of glass and won an R&D 100 Award. SkyFuel exited in a sale in 2015. Arnold founded YouSolar to build a multi-source nanogrid that provides resilient and clean power, making utility power optional. Arnold holds a Ph.D. in Physics from C.U. Boulder and an MBA from Columbia.

Roger is a seasoned sales professional with 15 years of experience in residential and commercial Solar and Battery solutions. As Director of Business Development and VP of Commercial Solar at Cinnamon Energy Systems, he sold over 250 batteries in the three years prior to joining YouSolar. Roger holds degrees in Art & Journalism from Rutgers College and started his career in the newsroom of the New York Times.

Bob has nearly 40 years of experience in automotive, aviation, industrial, and consumer product development. He worked over twenty of those years for Motorola/Freescale in various roles, finishing as European Director of Analog and Mixed Signal Division Product Development in Toulouse, France. Bob holds 8 patents covering various engineering disciplines, from power device design to silicon process development.

Pradnya has been a business operations leader in the technology and healthcare industry. She has been recognized with ten performance awards for leadership, outstanding contribution, and service, including #1 contributor in North America at Salesforce and a Startup Leader of the Year Award. Pradnya brings operational excellence to YouSolar and supports the CEO and the sales team. She has a BS in Biomedical Engineering from Marquette University.

Mike was the CEO of Sempra Generation and the Southern California Gas Company. While at Sempra, Mike built the ground-breaking 10 MW “Eldorado” solar plant in Nevada, the first solar project to use thin-film solar panels. Within a decade, Sempra and others built thousands of megawatts of utility solar projects in America’s Desert Southwest. Mike holds an MBA from the University of Chicago and a BS in Chemical Engineering from Michigan State.

Aastha is an Embedded Firmware Engineer. She is working on all aspects of PowerBloc’s software and firmware. Aastha was born and raised in India. She came to the U.S. to earn a master’s in Computer Engineering from Arizona State University. At Arizona State University, Aastha’s dissertation focused on climate diplomacy. In her research, she developed specialized chambers that maintained optimal CO2 and H2O levels for effective carbon capture.

Marcus joined YouSolar after getting his Master’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering from Imperial College in London with First Class Honors. A native Texan but a global citizen, he has lived around the globe in Australia, Indonesia, Russia, Singapore, Slovenia, Thailand, the U, and now in the San Francisco Bay Area. When Marcus isn’t busy designing the PowerBloc’s modules, he likes to get away into California’s sierras for epic hikes and climbs.

Jon has developed embedded control software for nearly 40 years. Jon’s systems have controlled the lighting for productions like the Grammy Awards. Jon has applied his software design skills to gas analysis systems, veterinary products, camera management software, mobile generator load management, LED lighting, and solar power systems. He holds a Master of Fine Arts in Technical Design and Production from Yale University School of Drama.

David has worked for over 20 years in computational physics and software architecture. He was an associate scientist at the National Center for Atmospheric Research. Later, David was a software developer and senior research scientist at Tech-X where he worked on satellite-based estimation of surface solar irradiance. He received a B.S. in Physics from UC Santa Cruz and a Ph.D. in Astrophysics and Atmospheric Science from CU, Boulder.

Moritz manages the remote monitoring of our CIRRUS™ cloud service and runs analytics on installed PowerBloc systems to improve the EDISON™ optimization engine. He is also working on the data streaming to YouSolar’s upcoming DIYA™ app for mobile devices. Moritz is deeply interested in the sciences and passionate about nature. Moritz has an undergraduate degree in electronics and computer engineering from the University of Graz, Austria.
