Rosengarten entered the prestigious the Institute of Fine Arts of New York University with the help of a scholarship. At the university, he mastered the technique of landscape painting. Rosengarten graduated and obtained a Bachelor Degree in Fine Arts from this university.

Taking advantage of every minute of the day, Rosengarten took time to study his other passions: zoology, botany, geography and architecture.
This is how, when he entered the Academy, he already brought a wide range of scientific knowledge that would be indispensable to him at the time of capturing nature with such realism and detail in his paintings.

After graduating, he began to paint from life, and to his works he sometimes added historical episodes and other daily scenes.
Yitzy Rosengarten was cementing his painting on a detailed and precise drawing, with a deep and scientific vision of nature. He did countless pencil studies and oil sketches on rocks, rivers, clouds, leaves, and trees. He participated at many competitions and obtained silver medals and diplomas.
