Company Summary
Kendrick Lamar won the Pulitzer Prize Award in 2018 and Bob Dylan won the Nobel Prize for Literature in 2017. Words Liive is dedicated to improving reading and writing proficiency by developing a platform for mass collaboration between music artists, teachers, and students to co-produce lesson plans for K-12 classrooms' reading curricula. As founder, I've created a process that isolates grammar structures and literary techniques in song lyrics and integrates them into classroom source texts like novels, speeches, plays, poems, etc. as commonly used in primary and secondary schools' ELA (English language arts) classes where reading and writing proficiency are developed and measured.
We're addressing 'chronic underperformance' in reading and writing proficiency for under-resourced urban and rural communities. We solve for this by matching song lyrics to integrate into the classrooms' reading curriculum. In this way, our innovative platform, the Opus app, is culturally responsive for classrooms in “real-time" and on-demand! With our technology, teachers can literally respond to students in class, during class, based on the students' musical preferences. Teachers will be able to integrate students' cultural novelties into their reading and writing education, on-demand and in real-time of the lesson, therefore providing an intensive and highly responsive content delivery system for literacy.
