Company Summary

Wooter is the world's first marketplace for recreational sports. We offer dual market for both players (customers) to join leagues and league owners to expand their manage their leagues. For players, Wooter is the easiest way search, book and play in sports leagues in their area.

We also provide league owners (merchants) with everything they need to start or manage their leagues for free. Our cloud software includes registration, payment processing, player + team management, scheduling, messaging and more.

Our secret sauce is our platform which connects leagues with all the services they need. This includes insurance, apparel, refs, statistics, videography, & more. Our services elevate the standard of recreational sports, & help players feel like pros. This puts us in the position to dominate the recreational sports market vertical. Our services also extend to coaches and sports facilities.

Wooter is also developing an app to make the player experience more social. Player profiles and a social hub will allow a player to check out next week's competition, read about a player's achievements, see a league's "top ten picks" and "highlights from their game", communicate with other players, etc.

Team

  • Alex is leading Wooter toward one clear vision -- creating the world’s largest sports marketplace. At 13 years old, he made $6,000 by selling gold in an online video game (Runescape) for cash. From 2008 until 2014, Alex has worked with his father side-by-side building United Brakes & Clutches into the top auto and truck repair shop in Newark, NJ. Another accomplishment by Alex was turning $500 into $300,000 playing online poker.

  • David is our operations lead. At age 12 David was put in charge of keeping financial records for his father's medical office and he hasn't looked back. From bookkeeping to directing sales in his teens, David has gone on to co-found Gelfman Blueprint. With previous sales, financial, and management experience, he keeps the internal operations of Wooter running fluently and in a constant state of expansion.

  • Michael@wooter.co
    CTO

Michael is our professional nerd. He is currently pursuing a PhD in Mechanical Engineering at Georgia Tech. He's never had to pay for tuition because of his over $900,000 in combined scholarship awards. He's an alumnus of the Cooper Union, and has formerly worked as an engineer at Bell Labs and as a developer at Quantum Networks, an online reseller. Michael leads our tech team. In his spare time Michael builds robots using his 3D printer.

  • Alex is a co-founder for Gelfman Blueprint, a bitcoin investment firm managing over $700,000 in assets, between 80 customers. Alex dropped out of a capstone business program to devote all his time to Wooter. He lives off of customer feedback and directs that energy directly into product. He has brought his intuitive grasp on business development to Wooter, working alongside the tech team to relentlessly improve the site.
