Developing educational simulation-games that put users in decision-making historical roles to enhance knowledge of complex social dynamics.
We propose to build a sym, a collaborative simulation of social dynamics and education tool. A historical sym is a virtual role-playing game where users act as a historical figure in a situation and have to use information, social contacts, and problem-solving to make decisions. The true choice shows how history progressed. Alternate decisions lead to other consequences, allowing the user to explore how a complex social network reacts to change.
