Company Summary

WHILL designs and manufactures next generation electric mobility for seniors and users with physical disability. Existing wheelchairs or senior cars are stigmatized by many users due to its unfashionable outlook and medical-oriented functionality. WHILL aspires to be the BMW for seniors/users with light disability, providing the most joyful driving experience in the personal mobility segment.

    Born in 1982 Shizuoka, Japan. After working at the NISSAN design center, Sugie had started Smile Park design project. Before the foundation at the project, Sugie stayed in different parts of the world creating new products by gaining inspiration from that lands. Founded WHILL project in 2011, Sugie was a member of the Green innovation projects Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry Study Committee in 2012.

Founded Sunny Side Garage, an engineering unit, and published several products in 2009. Founded WHILL project in 2011. Resign Sony corp. and joined WHILL Inc. as Chief Development officer in 2012.
