WaterCity is on a mission to revolutionize the nation's $120 billion water industry. We address water scarcity and pricing challenges by making water conservation easy and profitable for the public. We do this by producing and selling water at individual properties. Just as SolarCity has become the nation's first fully distributed energy provider, WaterCity is becoming the nation's first fully distributed water company.

Team

  • CEO and co-founder

    At 33, Maeve brings 8 years of business experience with an emphasis on supply chain management, distribution, logistics, and ERP software development. She also has 2 years of executive management experience with a non-profit organization. Maeve co-founded a private foundation and serves on the Board of Directors as treasurer. She is an expert in the nexus of water and entrepreneurship, on leave from her MBA program to run WaterCity.

  • CTO and co-founder

    Jeff developed the initial WaterCity idea and is an internationally recognized expert in the nexus of natural resources and business. He has 28 years of experience working on water-related topics in the U.S., Africa, Asia, Latin America, and Europe. Jeff holds a Ph.D. from Cornell in natural resource policy and management and teaches part-time at the Monterey Institute of International Studies (www.miis.edu).

  • Rick is an experienced Silicon Valley executive with more than 30 years of experience leading high-growth companies. A former Entrepreneur-in-Residence at InterWest Partners, Rick now consults to a wide range of companies.

Previous Investors

  • Dr. Barbeau leads the annual "Monterey Bay Startup Challenge" business competition. WaterCity, Inc won the 2014 competition, receiving $50,000 in cash and in-kind services, for example legal support from www.WSGR.com.
