The Voxello noddle allows patients who are unable to speak and are motorically impaired to access the nurse call system, environmental controls, and speech generating devices. These patients are 3x more likely to experience and are costing our hospital systems $29B a year. With the noddle we can reduce these adverse events, increase patient satisfaction, and save hospitals significant resources.

  • He has a broad range of experience in engineering, R&D, and clinical settings, spanning over 20 years. His background includes pivotal involvement in a variety of mammography technologies, as well as other clinical applications. He also is responsible for the successful commercialization of numerous medical devices. Rives holds a BA in physics from Wake Forest University and did his graduate work at the Bowman Gray School of Medicine.

    Jerry Stack was previously the Global Director of Quality for Whirlpool and has 15 years experience in the field. He is certified as a Reliability Engineer and a Quality Engineer by the American Society for Quality. He graduated with an MS in Quality and Reliability Engineering from the University of Massachusetts and a BS in Mathematics from the Virginia Military Institute.

  • Dr. Richard Hurtig is a Professor Emeritus in the Department of Communication Sciences & Disorders at the University of Iowa. He’s a Fellow of the American Speech-Hearing-Language Association and the Director of the University of Iowa Assistive Devices Laboratory. He received his BA and MA degrees from New York University and his M. Phil and Ph.D. from Columbia University in Cognitive Psychology.

    Doug was previously an Engineering Program Manager for Honeywell Sensing and Productivity Systems with over 21 years of experience with embedded device software and hardware solutions. His certifications include PMI-ACP through the Project Management Institute as well as the Professional Scrum Master and Six Sigma Greenbelt certifications. Doug graduated with an BS in Computer Science with a minor Business Administration from the U of Iowa.

    Director, Clinical Research and Applications

    Chelsea was previously working in Sports Medicine and Orthopedics for Stryker in the medical device industry. She has over eight years of experience in clinical research and applications, ranging from data collection & design, clinical implementation, publication support, multi-site coordination and healthcare management systems. She has a B.S. in Psychology with a focus on Neuroscience and minors in Biology and English from the U of Iowa.
