Our company produces "gari" - the dried, roasted product made from cassava tubers and consumed in Sierra Leone (where we work) and throughout the tropics. The company is operated by Sierra Leoneans and guided by an Advisory Board (all members from Sierra Leone) but additional guidance is provided by US-based staff and by a technical specialist from the US that lives on site and is paid by the Peace Corps (through their PC Response program).
