Company Summary

VCharge offers rapid and scalable power management for Transactive Load. Modern electric grids are characterized by substantial physical and economic volatility, a problem exacerbated by wind and solar generation. VCharge’s VNet technology allows ETS heaters and other Transactive Loads to take advantage of this volatility, allowing them to buy electrical energy when it is cheapest, and simultaneously providing balancing services to grid operators

Team

  • Jessica Millar
    Chief Science Officer

Millar, trained as a mathematician, founded VCharge in 2009 to bring modern optimization and communications technology to bear on the problem of intermittent renewable energy generation. In 2010, she led VCharge to be the first company to provide Regulation services with aggregated demand-side resources in the ISO-NE Alternative Technologies Regulation program.

  • Baker taught at the Harvard Business School for 23 years before leaving to join VCharge in 2010. While on leave from HBS in 2008-2009, he developed the largest community-owned wind power project on the East Coast.
Baker's research and consulting, on the economics of incentives, has prepared him well to take on the challenges of energy market operation and regulation.

  • VP Sales and Marketing

Bob has extensive operational sales and marketing experience growing software companies. He is a data-driven marketer with deep knowledge of business and web analytics, CRM systems, and scripting for data manipulation. He is also an M&A veteran on both the selling and buying sides.
