Varnish Lane was the first nail salon in the U.S. combining hygienic waterless practices with more natural nail care products that are free of common toxins. Our beautiful salons and unique services have been recognized by national and regional media including Allure, InStyle, and the Washington Post. After launching a a third location in early 2019, we plan to accelerate our expansion in highly fragmented and large $8.5B nail care industry.
With a background in client experiences within the fashion and high-end wedding and catering industry, Lauren believes the relationship between a business and it's clients is much more than a transaction of services, but a relationship between a brand and its community. Lauren combines a love of imaginative genius and organizational vision and a longtime obsession with everything nails and non-toxic beauty.
Carrie Dunne is a seasoned real estate expert with experience in general contracting, managing clients and interior design. She has designed countless beautiful interiors while focusing on functionality and comfort. She has translated this expertise into Varnish Lane by designing a space with the client's relaxation and experience as the top priority.
John was hired as Chief Operating Officer in August, 2018. A 25 year retail/CPG veteran, he recently spent 6 years as President of multi-channel retailer Plow and Hearth. John has extensive personal care experience including brand management roles at Unilever and as executive at Burt's Bees as Senior Vice President of Global Marketing. John has served on multiple corporate and industry boards including the Natural Products Association.
