Prior to joining UpEnergy, Erik co-founded E+Carbon, Inc. - the carbon finance subsidiary of E+Co. He implemented some of the world’s first Gold Standard (GS) cookstove projects as well as one of the earliest multi-country programs. Erik co-authored the latest GS cookstove methodology and served on the Alliance for Clean Cookstoves working group. Prior to E+Carbon, Erik worked as a UNDP consultant in sustainable energy. Nicole BallinChief Operating Officer
Nicole is a serial, social entrepreneur with seven years experience in operations and business management. Nicole came to UpEnergy from the financial sector where she worked for UBS and Deutsche Bank. Nicole is the Co-Founder of Refill Revolution which was successfully acquired in 2012 and currently serves on the Board of Advisors for True2O. Nicole holds an MBA from UC Berkeley and a BA in International Economics from UCLA.

Matthew EvansPrincipal
Matt has led many projects focused on poverty reduction in Africa, Asia, and Latin America. He focuses on applying principles of social marketing and carbon finance to scale projects. Matt is currently Managing Director of Impact Carbon and was formerly the co-founder and Executive Director of Live Climate. Matt holds an MBA from the University of California, Berkeley and a BA in International Relations from Stanford.

Evan HaiglerPrincipal
Evan has been a leader in the carbon finance and cookstove sector since its inception. He contributed to the Voluntary Gold Standard (GS) Methodology for Improved Cookstoves. He also developed the first Voluntary GS Cookstove Project. Alex has a decade of experience in environmental finance. He co-founded the trading desk at EOS Climate and was on the Climate Change Services team in PWC's Energy Corporate Finance practice.
