James holds a Ph.D. in chemistry from Northwestern University, and through his studies and research became an expert in wine chemistry. James, who is sensitive to sulfites, invented the Selective Sulfite Capture™ process to help others who would benefit from having these chemicals out of their wine. Aside from inventing Üllo, James is credited for discovering a new way that enzymes communicate and is an accomplished violinist.

An experienced executive with over 15 years as President/COO and CEO of major consumer products companies, Jim has broad strategic and general management skills along with significant sales, manufacturing, product development, and sourcing expertise. He is responsible for the development and management of all core company functions including strategic planning, manufacturing, distribution, sourcing and sales.

A licensed patent attorney with an M.S. in Chemical Engineering, Joe currently helps oversee Üllo’s intellectual property, chemical engineering/manufacturing and business development. While studying abroad in Paris, Joe developed a passion for wine and has been furthering his knowledge ever since. He is an accredited WSET wine expert and specializes in French wines -- a knowledge he is happy to share with you, in fluent French.
