  • Amy Elizabeth Costello
    Founder

    Amy founded Tiny Spark in 2011. She was Africa Correspondent for PRI’s The World. Her PBS television investigation into genocide in Sudan was nominated for an Emmy. Her PBS investigation into the PlayPump, a celebrated idea designed to “do good”, became the impetus for Tiny Spark. Amy has worked as an adjunct professor at Columbia University Graduate School of Journalism, her alma mater. Tiny Spark investigations have been broadcast nationally.

  • Lily Jamali
    Head of Strategy

    Lily Jamali is a multimedia journalist whose work has been featured on NBC, CNN and PRI/BBC’s “The World”. Her reporting has taken her throughout Latin America, South Asia and the post-Soviet Central Asian republics.
    Lily holds a Master’s degree in journalism from Columbia University. She is currently working towards her MBA at NYU, focusing on Finance. She serves as a graduate assistant for the school's Center for Business and Human Rights.

  • Justin Nowell
    Technology

    Justin is currently pursuing an MBA at NYU, specializing in Social Innovation & Impact. Prior to NYU, he served as a web developer/designer for TripAdvisor and BiddingForGood (an online auction site for non-profits). He has also worked with a number of non-profits, helping them redesign and improve their websites.
