After a brief career as a geophysicist, Sarah moved to Tanzania in 2006 to open a hostel on the slopes of Kilimanjaro, providing accommodation for volunteers and working alongside local grass roots organisations, while helping to organise volunteer placements for twenty volunteers at any time. After returning to Ireland in 2011, Sarah decided to expand her vision of a 'community hostel' into a worldwide movement.

Bob has spent the last ten years as a film-maker. During this time he has traveled the world, making films about his journeys both in front and behind the camera. He has made programmes for RTE, TV3, AT5, BBC, Travel Channel. This experience inspired him to become involved in the hugely positive work carried out by ethical volunteering projects throughout the world from Iceland to Australia and everywhere in between.
