Company Summary
We achieve measurable social and environmental impact in the communities where we invest, with particular emphasis on climate action and gender equality. We currently manage five impact funds (150 M USD AUM) including the Ilu Women’s Empowerment Fund (GLI fund for the LAC region), two climate action funds (one focused on Central America and the other on the Caribbean) and two private equity funds (one focused on Mexico and the other on Latam).

Managing partnerJosé is co-Founder and Managing Partner of Deetken Impact. José is a serial entrepreneur with expertise in investing, engineering, finance and strategy. He holds an Applied Science degree from UBC, and a Master’s in Business Administration from IESE Business School. Prior to founding Deetken Impact, José co-founded The Deetken Group, a consulting firm. He has led Deetken Impact’s investment strategy since inception.

Managing PartnerAlexa leads finance, operations, strategic projects and investor relations. She sits on 3 of the 5 Investment Committees of Deetken's funds. She has more than 10 years of asset management experience with African Alliance, the Canada Pension Plan Investment Board, the Macquarie Group and the Ontario Teachers’ Pension Plan. She's a CFA Charterholder, a Chartered Business Valuator and holds an MA in Financial Economics from the University of Toronto

Managing PartnerErik was the Founder and Managing Partner of Adobe Capital, one of Latin America’s leading impact investment fund managers and now part of Vancouver-based Deetken Impact. Over the last decade, he has played a catalytic role in the growth of the impact investing sector in Latin America. Before launching Adobe Capital, he worked at various private equity and venture capital funds in Mexico.

Magali LamyinManaging PartnerMagali, Managing Partner, is a member of the Investment Committees of 3 out of 5 funds . She also leads the implementation of impact measurement and reporting frameworks across all funds. Moreover, she is a steering member of the Gender Lens Investing Community of Practice, Canada Forum for Impact Investing and Development (CAFIID).
Magali holds a BA in Economics from Mexico’s ITAM and a MA in Economics from the University of British Columbia. -
Managing PartnerHe is the Managing Partner of the two clean energy and energy efficiency Deetken's funds.
He has worked for local and multinational corporations, private commercial banks, on investment banking transactions for IFC, and as a consultant for USAID, European and multilateral organizations. He has an MBA in Banking and Finance from Universidad de Costa Rica and a post graduate diploma from Harvard University on Private Equity and Venture Capital.
