Team

  • Ed has been Managing Director of Stratford Partners, a boutique investment bank, and CFO for venture capital backed firms Pentech Solutions and Clean Air Power. Earlier in his career, Ed held several finance and operations leadership roles at Honeywell and began his career at KPMG. Ed has an MBA from the University of Virginia and a Bachelors degree from Boston University.

  • Prior to joining Tempronics, Rick was Chairman of the Board of Regents for the State of Arizona, COO of Bourn Partners, and President of the Southern Arizona Leadership Council. Earlier at IBM, Rick served as GM, VP of R&D. Rick has a BS degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Alabama and executive education certificates from Thunderbird, Wharton, and University of Arizona. Rick was named Tucson Man of the Year in 2013.

  • Co-Founder and CTO

    Dr. Makansi earned his PhD in Electrical Engineering from the University of California, Berkeley, and had a 21-year career with IBM. His prior experience includes executive positions in venture capital, product operations, and business development for IBM’s data storage division. Dr. Makansi is the inventor of over ten patents and is author of several technical publications, and he has led product development teams of up to 70 people.

  • VP of Engineering

    Bob has seven years executive-level experience for Ricoh and IBM, with a focus on new product development, release to manufacturing, and worldwide introduction on time and on budget. Bob had worldwide P&L responsibility for the InfoPrint Cutsheet product line, and is a certified Project Management Professional. Bob was a member of the Univ. of Colorado Mechanical Engineering Industrial Advisory Council, including three years as Chairman.

  • Director of Engineering

    Lat has over 30 years of engineering experience in the defense and solar industries. His focus has been on product development and automated test and manufacturing equipment. He also taught Vehicle Dynamics at the University of Arizona. Lat earned a BS in Mechanical Engineering at the University of Arizona.

  • Mike Berman
    Dir. of Manufacturing

    Mike has 30 years of semiconductor fabrication experience at Data General, AMD, Sematech and LSI Logic. Mike holds over 50 patents and has experience with all phases of semiconductor and MEMs manufacturing. He is currently co-chair of the Arizona Nanotechnology Cluster. Mike earned his BS in Physics from Florida Technological University.
