Company Summary

Currently Teach on the Beach operates educational programs and markets volunteer travel to Busua, Ghana. We have a combined decade of experience in Ghana dating back to our founders study abroad trips in 2003.

Our target markets are 1) college students looking to travel, serve, and learn and 2) retirees with life experience and skills to teach. Trips include ground transport, accomm., and placement in our high impact, ongoing programs.

  • Aankit B Patel
    CEO

    Aankit has four years start up experience in internet marketing analysis, ad sales, and technical operations. In 2009 he traveled to Ghana to teach and spent ten months on the ground teaching and helping the team to establish Teach on the Beach.

    Aankit's business education at NYU's Stern School helped him bring needed management, accounting, and marketing skills to an already committed and talented team.

  • Aaron Adler
    President

    Aaron first traveled to Ghana in 2003 on study abroad. Disappointed with his experience he left the beaten path and began teaching youth near campus. The kids he started of teaching in 2003 are still part of the Teach on the Beach programs.

    Aaron also created our NewsHour program where students watch int'l news and discuss their thoughts and feelings. We are now spreading NewsHour around the world so students can discuss events internationally

  • Alison Hannon
    Vice President

    Ali also studied abroad in Ghana in 2003 and was the original trailblazer - Aaron followed in her footsteps. She is a teacher and the foundation of our experiential learning approach, a method she learned at the innovative Bank Street College of Education. She also is the driving force behind our data collection and impact assessment utilizing her experience as a teacher in New York City to test and evaluate the many students we reach.

  • Michael M Wagner
    Director of Facilities & Logistics

    Mike has spent over four years in Ghana and brings a deep understanding on how to build and maintain our facilities as well as how to move people and resources into and around the country.

    Mike has managed the construction of a quarter million dollar orphanage and helped place volunteers in schools and other program over the course of his extensive time in Ghana.

  • Sarah Riczo
    Director of Volunteer Programming

    Sarah joined our team in Ghana in 2010 while she was traveling and evaluating non-profit projects for the charity network Global Giving. Sarah bought into our vision and mission and loved our programs and students so much that she had to join the team.

    Sarah brings an international development skill set and background to our venture, helping us frame, manage and communicate our work to volunteers/clients and partner organizations.

  • Noah Thomas Herbert
    Director of Branding & Communications

    Mr. Hébert is focusing on brand strategy, fundraising, and partnerships for Teach on the Beach.

    As a graduate of Rhodes College, he focused his studies on Economics and German and actively volunteered as a Bonner Scholar and member of the Alpha Tau Omega fraternity.

    He currently studie entrepreneurship at the Flores School of Business (LSU). During his time there, he plans to actively push the agenda of Teach on the Beach.
