Company Summary
SulfaCHAR is the cost-effective, convenient and zero-waste solution to the growing $3.5B per year global renewable natural gas cleaning industry. With patented SulfaCHAR, toxic and corrosive hydrogen sulfide is filtered out of the gas, allowing users to drastically reduce their maintenance costs. SulfaCHAR is unique – it is the only product that effectively converts hydrogen sulfide into a fertilizer, and not another waste requiring disposal.

Andrew James WhitePresident & COO
Andrew, MASc., MBET, has 5 years of experience in environmental engineering, co-invented SulfaCHAR at U of T and co-founded CHAR Technologies. Prior, he built the lab testing procedure for a small-hydrogen start-up. He is directly responsible for the funds raised for CHAR to date. He designed and oversaw fabrication of the pilot gas cleaning system, pilot SulfaCHAR production, and negotiated the initial site demonstration.

Don W KirkVP, R&D
Don, PhD, P.Eng, is the co-inventor of the SulfaCHAR™ process and is the co-founder of CHAR Technologies. He has extensive knowledge in the area of solid adsorbents. His continued R&D is focused on alternative feedstocks to produce SulfaCHAR, production optimization, as well as developing further applications for SulfaCHAR.

John NicholsonCEO
John, MSc, P.Eng., has worked in the environmental/cleantech sector since 1989, first as an environmental engineer at a large Canadian consulting firm, and subsequently as an in-house engineer at Torys, one of Canada’s leading law firms, followed by the Ontario Ministry of the Environment, and finally as a partner at Environmental Business Consultants, a firm he co-founded.

James, BA, ICD.D built the cleantech practice as a Partner at Canaccord Captial after being head of Corporate Development at Delsan Environmental ($40m+ business, sold to Philip Services Inc.). He co-founded Environmental Business Consultants, which has worked with dozens of cleantech firms, investing in many. James is the founder and CEO of Cleantech Capital Inc., a capital pool corporation, and has served on the board of public companies.
