We are a startup founded to pursue an opportunity widely recognized within the pre-engineered metal building industry. The Metal Building Manufacturers Association (MBMA) has invested substantial resources over the past 8 years into researching the seismic reliability of their structures. As graduate researchers, we were funded to work on this issue. Metal buildings with a high risk category are not permitted by code from being constructed in a high seismic region. After graduate school, we developed a solution of our own. We offer the metal building industry the opportunity to compete in that market space through the incorporation of a seismic energy dissipation device. Our business model is one of licensing patent rights and design methodology to our customers so that they can continue their rapid turn-around operations unimpeded by the incorporation of our device into their design and fabrication processes. We are a California LLC, but are prepared to alter our business structure if necessary.
