Stellenbosch Wind Energy Technologies (SWET) was birthed from the vision of manufacturing unique high quality wind turbines for use in renewable energy electrical power systems. SWET aims to install these turbines, together with solar PV, forming a hybrid energy solution to clients in the off- and on grid markets.     degree in Electrical Engineering both obtained at Stellenbosch University. He currently resides
    in Stellenbosch and is acting as SWET’s CEO.

  • Maarten Jan Kamper
    Prof

    Prof. Maarten Kamper holds a Bachelor’s, a Masters and a Ph.D. degree in Engineering, all
    obtained at the University of Stellenbosch. He is currently a Professor at the Electrical and
    Electronic department of the faculty of Engineering at Stellenbosch University. He will act in an
    advisory capacity to the company.

  • Rong-Jie Roger Wang

    Dr Rong-Jie Wang holds a Bachelor’s, a Masters and a Ph.D. degree. His degrees were obtained
    at the University of Hong Kong, the University of Cape Town and the University of Stellenbosch
    respectfully. He is currently a postdoctoral research fellow at Electrical and Electronic
    department of the faculty of Engineering at Stellenbosch University. He will act in an advisory
    capacity to the company.

    InnovUS is Stellenbosch University’s technology transfer company and they will assist with the incubation of the business. InnovUS will be represented by Philip Marais and will mainly assist
    in the areas of company formation, recruitment, legal, patenting and marketing.

  • Pierre van Aswegen

    Pierre is a seasoned entrepreneur and is currently running Regal 3, a professional management and consulting company which has three main areas of expertise – Financial Management, Business Consulting and Venture Capital. Regal 3 will provide interim management services to SWET in the early stages of operation to ensure that SWET is well equipped to go to market.
