Company Summary

Squareknot is a way for people to create beautiful step-by-step guides. Users can collaborate on guides by branching off in separate directions to demonstrate their unique way of doing the same thing. By organizing steps and guides the same way that Google Maps might organize multiple routes, and combining that with the crowdsourcing philosophies of Wikipedia, Squareknot will become the de facto destination site for how to do things online.

Team

  • CTO, Full Stack Developer, and Chief of Staff

Jide has been a member of the Squareknot team since the beginning. Though he earned his degree in industrial engineering, he has been building websites since he was twelve years old. As a self-taught developer, Jide is no stranger to trying new things. From constructing his own wooden desk to designing and building a backyard koi pond, Jide's passion for challenging himself with new skills is always evident in everything he does.

  • Founder and CEO

Jason Rappaport is a designer, developer, photographer, singer, adventurer, and whatever anyone else asks him to be today. One day, everyone told Jason to stop doing so many things, but he didn't feel like it. Jason then founded Squareknot in 2013 to stave his unquenchable thirst for interesting things to do and to provide an outlet for his caffeine binges.

  • Raheem Ghouse
    CFO

Raheem got his first job when he was ten years old, started his first business when he was eighteen, moved to a new country to go to college, and is sometimes still dissatisfied with the amount of activity in his life. A finance person through and through, he wonders how he survived before being introduced to startup culture. When not at work, he's either swimming, reading a tech blog, or experimenting in the kitchen.

  • Frontend Developer, DevOps, and Project Management

Ian Stewart was previously a developer for Booz Allen before joining Squareknot in October 2013. Since then, he's been in charge of Squareknot's web interface, our server architecture and deployment, and even our project management.

  • UI/UX Designer

Sayra is originally from Mexico, but moved to the USA five years ago to get her B.A. in Fine Arts (with a concentration in Graphic and Web Design) from The University of Pennsylvania. Originally a Computer Science major, she spent a year in the Engineering School, which gave her a solid foundation in object oriented programming. She recently took over Squareknot's design efforts and has since helped implement rigorous UI and UX testing standards.

  • Justin is DevOps (Developer Operations) manager for Zelda Universe and Zelda Wiki. Through this, Justin has vast experience dealing with scalable cloud server environments and deployments. Justin has graciously volunteered his time to Squareknot out of enthusiasm for the project, where he handles all of our cloud server configuration and deployment.
