Spensa Technologies' mission is to design, develop and deliver novel technologies for the agricultural industry that reduce reliance on manual labor, foster eco-friendly farming and enhance crop production efficiency. Spensa is currently preparing to commercialize an automated insect population monitoring system that could revolutionize pest management practices in agriculture and reduce the amount of pesticide applications.

  • Johnny Park
    President and CEO

    Dr. Park is the founder of Spensa. He is a Research Assistant Professor in the School of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Purdue University. He has authored numerous academic publications in the field of computer vision, robotics and wireless sensor networks. Dr. Park received Ph D (2004), MS (2000) and BS (1998) in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Purdue. He has served as the Principal Investigator on numerous projects.

  • Henry Medeiros
    CTO

    Dr. Medeiros joined Spensa in 2010. Previously he was a Graduate Research Assistant in the Robot Vision Laboratory, School of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Purdue. He was awarded a Fulbright commission fellowship for PhD Studies in the US(2005) and a CAPES (Agency of Brazilian Ministry of Education) fellowship for graduate studies (2003). He is a graduate of Federal University of Technology, Parana Brazil with an MS in Electrical Eng.

  • Kim Nicholson
    VP of Business Development

    Kim has over 25 years in the Agribusiness industry. She served most recently as President of the Consumer Division of Chemtura. Previously she was the National Sales Mgr. for BASF. She has served as the VP of Bus. Dev.for Nutra-Park a Univ. of Wisconsin start up ag enterprise. She held several roles with increasing responsibility early in her career with American Cyanamid Company in sales and marketing. She has a BS from Purdue in Agronomy.

  • Tom Puterbaugh
    VP of Products

    Tom has over 30 years of experience in managing new product introductions across multiple markets worldwide for Caterpillar, Inc. Tom brings the ability to help lead teams in the planning, organizing and executing of new products from concept to production. He brings a strong focus on understanding the need to meet and exceed customer needs. Tom joined Spensa in June 2012 and degrees in Management from Purdue and Indiana Wesleyan University.
