Space City is an exciting new development planned for Cape Town. This world-class tourist attraction will bring the awe of space to young and old. The facility will comprise a Space Exploratorium that will provide a complete experience of space exploration, as well as hosting a Space Research Institute and a "Space University." The Exploratorium will house exciting, interactive space exhibits, planetarium, IMAX theatre and Science Centre.

    Founder

    Carla completed a degree in finance and economics followed by post graduate studies in Space Technology and an Executive MBA in Space Management from the International Space University in Strasbourg. She has participated in varied projects as well as founding a number of space related ventures and development initiatives. Carla also actively promotes African space development and collaboration with a focus on South Africa’s space industry.

    Architect

    Design 360 is an established Architectural and Interior Design practice
    competing successfully at the highest level of the profession, actively
    participating in the development and enhancement of the built
    environment and adding real value to their client’s developments

  • Rod Stevens
    Architect

    Rod Stevens became a
    partner in the practice in 1997. In 2000 he also became a director of Blueprint
    Architects. Within KMH Architects he
    has developed a monograph of completed projects in the corporate head
    office, hotel and leisure, retail, commercial, luxury residential and transport
    sectors. Within Blueprint Architects he has completed projects , most recently, the new Central Terminal
    Building at Cape Town International Airport.

  • Bruce Good
    Financial Advisor

    Bruce graduated from Stellenbosch University with a B.Comm (Hons) degree
    whereafter he worked in London for 8 years, most recently for Investec Bank
    in the Structured Property Finance team.
    He returned to Cape Town to undertake an MBA which he completed at NYU
    (Stern School of Business) in New York. He has since been working in Private
    Equity and actively investing in the UK and SA property markets.

  • Martin Smith
    Quantity Surveyor

    Martin started his career in the construction industry in 1987 and has gained a
    wealth of local and international experience in both cost and project
    management. His experience varies from commercial, residential, retail &
    leisure, infrastructure and education projects.

  • Peter Martinez
    Advisor

    Dr Martinez holds a PHD in Astronomy and is currently the Chairman of the
    South African Council for Space Affairs – the policy and regulatory authority for
    space activities in South Africa. Dr Martinez is the
    President of the South African Institute of Physics. In parallel to these roles, Dr Martinez is also
    Division Head of Space Science & Technology for the National Research Foundation at the South
    African Astronomical Observatory.
