Having grown up in Tijuana, a major hub for medical tourism, Mario witnessed the potential in the medical talent that was available in Mexico and Latin America. Mario and his team are using technology to bridge the gap between patients in the U.S. and doctors in Mexico. His 18+ years at Motorola, ARRIS and SONY has provided him with the framework and leadership skills to execute on SouthDoctors' vision.

Dr. Ovalle is a practicing OBGyn who is passionate about helping patients in the U.S. find and access more affordable medical care in Mexico. Dr. Ovalle has served as Chief of Staff at Hospital General de Subzona No. 6 of the Mexican Institute of Social Security. Previously, Dr. Ovalle helped build and create a primary care clinic as well as Tecate’s General Hospital, in which he served as Director/CEO from 2005-2012.
