SolWorks brings affordable solar water heating to households in Latin America. By making solar water heating affordable for middle class families, SolWorks has the potential to help 80 million middle class Latin American families reduce their fossil fuel consumption - saving them over $9.6 billion dollars annually and reducing CO2 emissions by 24 million metric tons per year.

    Sara Beaini

    Sara has a PhD in Mechanical Engineering from UC Berkeley, where she focused on heat transfer, fluids and energy resources. Her research interests are in developing energy-efficient technologies and alternative, renewable energy sources, especially related to solar thermal applications. Sara completed her BS in General Engineering at Harvey Mudd College, CA in May 2006 and her MS in Mechanical Engineering at UC Berkeley in May 2008.
