Company Summary

Snowed In Studios’ current major project involves creating DLC for a major AAA title as well as developing technology in partnership with Intel. The studio also works toward the release of its first original PC game, Windforge, to be release in 2013 and another original mobile title to be released in Q1 2014. In the past, we have worked with Eidos, Qualcomm, CRTC, Behaviour, Transgaming, Telus Spark Center, Gesture Tek, Artech, Atari and EA.

    Jean-Sylvain Sormany

    Jean-Sylvain has been a part of the gaming industry since 2001. He graduated from Polytechnic School of Montreal with a degree in Computer Engineering. He started working at Behaviour. In 2004, he joined Ubisoft to work on various titles including the Far Cry series. In 2007, he worked as Director of Technology at Fuel Games. In addition to being the chair of the IGDA Ottawa Chapter, Jean-Sylvain has been teaching at Carleton University.

    Chris Thiffault

    Chris graduated from the University of Toronto with a degree in Computer Engineering and a Masters in Artificial Intelligence. He started his career at EA in Vancouver before returning to the Ottawa region where he spent time at Fuel Games before becoming co-founder of Snowed In. He has been working in the game development industry for seven years, but has been an avid gamer his entire life.

    Evan Hahn

    Evan is a software engineer and game designer with extensive expertise in game-play programming, graphics, and procedural content creation.
    Evan completed a Master’s Degree in Computer Science at Carleton University. He was later hired by Fuel Industries and filled key roles in the creation of some of Fuel’s most ambitious projects.

    Tim Vito

    Tim is an accomplished generalist software engineer with work on seven shipped games as well as other commercial interactive media.
    After graduating from the University of Waterloo with an Honours Degree in Computer Science, he was fortunate enough to join the small development team at Fuel Games. Under the guidance of industry veterans from EA and Ubisoft, he was able to work on many exciting projects and quickly gain a wealth of experience.
