SME Holdings was founded in 2018 by Phemelo Malesa and Kamogelo Setagane, but Phemelo Malesa being the only registered entity and executive director. The purpose of the company initially was to solve problems in the African continent, the first problem at hand was finding an alternative that will decrease coal pollution and usage rapidly. Therefore the company will provide electricity to mines in the form of renewable energy. (Solar and wind)
