At STS we aim to develop apps and technologies that will change the way people drive and operate their vehicles everyday. Our first application is a mobile system that alerts the user of an upcoming yellow light, by a countdown, which will allow the user to either slow down to avoid sudden stops or speed up to successfully pass the light. Our next application in development is a refueling alert system that will link to the car’s fuel information and alert the user when to refuel based on the location of stations and the stats of the car’s fuel. The goal of this is to eliminate people running out of gas and worrying about when to refuel. Our final application in development, is a smart parking system that allows the user to find available parking spots convenient to them without wasting time searching for them. I believe this parking feature could become a staple in highly trafficked venues like malls, stadiums, and festivals.
