Company Summary

We will sell devices and prescriptions to RECLAIM, a software driven therapy that helps paralyzed stroke and spinal cord injury patients regain arm, hand and leg function. There are no effective treatment options that physical therapists or clinicians can offer the estimated 5 million stroke patients globally who suffer paralysis each year. Stroke remains the leading cause of adult disability in NA with an economic burden of $38.1 B annually.

    CEO

    Over 28 years of experience in commercialization of life sciences products. Previously consultant and EIR to HTX.ca and MaRS, EVP at YM BioSciences, CEO of DELEX Therapeutics, Company Creator for Eastern Technology Seed Investment Fund, Advisor to MDS Capital, VP Research at Hemosol, and Research Division Head at Syntex (Canada) Inc. Completed PhD in Chemistry at UofT and Post-doctoral studies at Harvard University.

  • Milos Popovic. PhD, P.Eng.
    Co-founder and CTO

    Toronto Rehab Chair in Spinal Cord Injury and Professor in IBBME at UofT . He is the Inventor of the "RECLAIM" therapy and has conducted numerous clinical studies. Dr. Popovic received his PhD in Mechanical Engineering from UofT; started his career as an aerospace engineer (AlliedSignal); switched to designing prosthetics at the ETH Zurich; and eventually discovered the use of electrical stimulation to restore voluntary movement in patients.

  • Aleksander Prodic, PhD
    Co-Founder and Inventor

    Associate Professor in the Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Engineering at UofT. His fields of expertise include digital control of low-power high frequency SMPs, mixed-signal IC design, DSP techniques for power electronics and development of systems-on-a-chip (SoC) for power management. Dr. Prodic has 9 issued U.S. patents and over 16 pending U.S patent applications.

  • Armen Baronian, PhD
    Co-Founder and Senior Development Engineer

    Currently a Senior Research Associate at the University of Toronto and Senior Design Engineer at IE-Power Inc. Dr. Baronian has over 17 years experience in fields of electronics, power conservation, advanced controls.

  • Kathrin Popovic, MD, PhD, Dipl. PT
    Clinical Associate

    Dr. Popovic received her medical training at the Swiss Paraplegic Center Nottwil, Switzerland; Paraplegic Center at the University Hospital Balgrist, Switzerland; and the Hospital for Neurology and Neurorehabilitation "Schmieder Kliniken Allensbach" in Germany. Prior to medical studies, she was a physical therapist in Germany treating SCI patients.
