Shoplandia’s app is the first end-to-end shoppable video creation and streaming platform for the mobile age. With our mobile app, p2p sellers/retailers can easily add ‘buy’ buttons to their product videos, enabling and empowering shoppers to instantly purchase direct-from-video.
Mobile has forever changed the way we live. It has also changed our expectations when shopping. Our consumer journeys are fractured into hundreds of real time, intent driven micro-moments. Video plays a critical role in shaping these micro-moments.
But video has a broken sales funnel. Despite exponential growth in mobile video, there is a gap between engaged viewers and actual transactions. Shoplandia’s mobile video platform is bridging that gap.
Our patent-pending technology platform has three core capabilities – create shoppable videos; stream and share shoppable videos; and easy checkout and payment in-stream.
1. Create Shoppable Videos – Shoplandia’s Storyboard feature allows for the creation of high quality and compelling product videos that are creative and stylized. With our mobile app, p2p sellers can shoot, style and produce fully ‘buy’ button-enabled videos with embedded e-commerce capabilities.
2. Stream and Share Shoppable Videos – Shoplandia helps p2p sellers reach modern consumers wherever they are. With easy video distribution and accessibility, Shoplandia sellers can reach their consumers on every device (smartphones, tablets, connected TVs and more) and social platform (Facebook, twitter, instagram et al) that matters.
3. Checkout and Pay – Shoplandia promotes frictionless transactions direct-from-video. Consumers can instantly purchase products while watching the shoppable videos – truly enabling in-context checkout and payment.
Shoplandia’s business model consists of a video hosting fee and commission on sales. We foresee additional revenue from value-added seller services, native advertising and affiliate programs.
Shoplandia was founded in October 2014. The founding team has deep digital and e-commerce expertise, and has scaled consumer digital products in both startups and large enterprise settings.
The Shoplandia platform is currently in public beta with our iPhone app available on Apple App Store in the US.
Backed by angel investors and the venture arm of Connecticut Innovations, we have raised over $520K to date. Recently selected by the Connecticut Technology Council as a 2015 Tech Company to Watch, and winner of CTNext Entrepreneur Innovation Award. We are also the recipient of a $120K Softlayer/IBM technology grant, and have established a strategic partnership with Pitney Bowes to offer cross-border shipping services to sellers.

CTO, Co-founderZia, Shoplandia's technical co-founder, has deep experience in building high volume, high availability transactional systems & is building its core platform.
Zia built & managed technology infrastructure for leading financial services firms such as Goldman Sachs, JPMorgan, Barclays & Solomon Brothers.
He has a Masters in Computer Science degree from Sheffield Hallam University, and Bachelors in Economics from The University of Sheffield, UK.
