Company Summary
Birthed from necessity, this concept arose from my current restaurant group (Mastro's Steak Houses, a division of Landry's) deciding to eliminate the cost of subscribing to HotSchedules employee scheduling platform, and subsequently having no scheduling software available to we the staff. Having grown dependent upon this technology for five years at Mastro's, and five years prior at Ruth's Chris, I immediately began searching for a solution. I found nothing, and began to research building a solution, but realized that the endeavor would be costly. The lightbulb went off. If I could create a scheduling platform that diverted cost from the users to strategic, targeted advertisers, we could position ourselves as an attractive alternative to HotSchedules, a $2.5 Billion company. We could not only mine employee data, but allow companies to get their logo, back-story, and selling points in the palms and vision of their remote sales force, and potentially incentivize the sales of their product over their competition.
With a prototype being designed by our talented IT department, we have secured the trademark and website "ShedWool" - a play in the spelling of schedule. Logo/icon, verbiage (example: employees can "shed a shift" - release it to be picked up), a wire-frame, prospective strategic partnerships and a board of directors are all in development and with works apical we can bring this to market and begin generating revenue/profit in our first quarter.
