Company Summary

The SentinelStop sensor represents a breakthrough in patient protection. It converts a door into a weight scale providing full door coverage to alert caregivers if pressure is applied anywhere on the sensored door. This system can become the benchmark means of eliminating suicide opportunities involving doors in inpatient settings.

Our target audience is behavioral care facilities – to manage risk and protect patients from suicide attempts.

    Stephen Young

Stephen, a registered architect and the product inventor, saw a need in the prevention of ligature (hanging) suicides for hospitalized patients during the 30 years he worked in facility design for at-risk patients. He worked with consulting engineers to develop a comprehensive door monitoring system that could reduce unnecessary patient death or injury and limit costly claims settlements. Thus began the S-Corporation, SentinelStop, Inc.
