Etienne has joined SamanTree in 2012 and is the project leader for developing SamanTree’s bench-top microscopy technology into a hand-held, clinical endomicroscopy prototype. Etienne holds a PhD in photonics (multiphoton microscopy) and has a proven track record in assembling advanced microscopes.

Since early 2010 Bastien is actively working on the development of SamanTree’s core technology, which inspired the common vision with Davor for SamanTree. He joined the EPFL in 2007, where he acted as one of the co-inventors of the large-field microscopy technique. Working since 2003 in the R&D environment, Bastien has specialized in applied optics for fluorescence microscopy. He owns a PhD in Biophotonics.

Davor has been growing SamanTree since mid-2010. Supported initially by a KPMG Inspiration Grant, and a Gebert Rüf Pilot Project Grant, he raised a seed investment (500K CHF) from the Zurcher Kantonalbank and obtained a multi-partner grant from the Swiss CTI, Davor has secured the necessary financing for the initial development of the SamanTree venture. Davor owns a PhD in Life Sciences.

Oengus is an experienced Financial Director, with over 25 years of work experience. Particularly with the recent work experiences at Debiopharm, and consulting start-up companies, he brings the necessary senior experience into the company, particularly for strategic financial planning and negotiating of co-development and licensing agreements. Oengus owns an accounting degree from University College Dublin and a MBA from INSEAD, Fontainebleau.
