Company Summary

Russian Red #7 is a Sundance A3 Foundation finalist feature film produced by award winning filmmakers Laurie Tsou and Sarah Zerina Usmen. A romantic drama set in Paris and Beijing, the project confronts stigma against individuals with HIV in China and racial discrimination in France by unraveling a brazen model's vulnerable teenage years. Theatrical, television, & DVD/VOD distribution targets audiences worldwide with emphasis in Europe & Asia.

    Laurie is the first-prize recipient of the 2006 Santa Barbara
    International Film Festival's 10-10-10 Screenwriting competition, grand
    prize winner of NexTVʼs 2011 Directing Talent Search, and winner of the
    2013 Asians on Film Festival Best Director & Best Short Dramatic Film
    category. Laurie was a 2012 Adobe Design Achievement Awards
    Semi-finalist and 2013 Nokia & Burton Talenthouse
    Photography Finalist. She earned her MFA in Film at USC.

    Sarah Zerina Usmen

    Sarah produced “Believe It!” a Blue Ribbon Finalist at the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences Student Awards in 2009. She directed the documentary “Muslims in Love”, now distributed by Filmakers Library. She received the Multicultural Motion Picture Association's Young Filmmaker Award in 2008, and production managed the Lifehouse music video "Make Me Over". Sarah earned her BA in International Relations at Wellesley and MFA in Film at USC.
