I propose the establishment of a biocomputing and biomathematics R&D institute in Rochester which will deal with purely computational and mathematical R & D and will focus on basic research in computational biology/bioinformatics, biostatistics and mathematical biology, with the primary objective of achieving a synergistic partnership with medicine as the latter transitions itself into true “precision medicine” a.k.a. “personalized medicine”.
