  • Dr. John R. Hetling
    CSO

    John is a leader and expert in electrophysiology of vision, with many publications in the field. As CSO, John plays an instrumental role in RetMap's science and technology development. He is also an Associate Professor in the Department of Bioengineering at the University of Illinois at Chicago. He is the Director of the Neural Engineering and Vision Laboratory, where most of the the RetMap technologies were invented.

  • Dr. Safa Rahmani
    CMO

    Safa was trained as a biomedical engineer at the University of Illinois at Chicago. During her Masters at UIC, she made the initial discoveries that led to the invention of the CLEAr Lens. She is an Associate Professor of Medicine at Northwestern University where she earned her MD degree and completed her ophthalmology residency. She completed her surgical vitreoretinal fellowship at Mass Eye and Ear at Harvard University.
