Company Summary

Red Red Balloon provides 3-7 year olds with a meaningful introduction to foreign languages through our game-based tablet/mobile applications. Young children are most receptive to learning languages and doing so can have tangible benefits to their long term success including developing better communication and cognitive skills in addition to learning another language. Our apps will give parents the tools to support their child’s development.

    Ryan has experience working with management information systems in an internship where he helped implement a volunteer management system for a local non-profit. He provided trainings and customized support for users. He also has experience working with children as he was a summer camp counselor for 7 years and developed a 2-week program for the camp. He will graduate with majors in MIS and Entrepreneurship in the top 5% of his class.

  • Karen Dougherty
    Marketing Manager

    Karen has experience interning in social media advertising and SEO. She managed a social media campaign as an intern for a political campaign. Born in Canada, she was introduced to French at an early age and attended a French immersion school when she moved to Los Angeles as a child. She is bilingual in French and English. With majors in Management and Entrepreneurship and a minor in Pre-law, Karen will graduate in the top 5% of her class.

    Technology Manager

    Shawn currently works as a student-employee at Arizona State University developing a platform independent mobile game promoting social change through competition called Lighter Footprints. He is also working as a mobile applications developer with Ellens Technologies to create an Android version of their app VetDx for his capstone project. He will graduate from Arizona State University with a major in Computer Science.

  • Tolan Thornton
    Finance Manager

    Tolan has studied foreign language since the age of 13 and has achieved fluency in both French and Mandarin. He spent several semesters abroad in France and China, and interned as a business analyst at Groupon France where he assisted with the internal audit process during the $6 billion acquisition offer by Google. Majoring in French, East Asian Studies, Entrepreneurship, and Finance, Tolan will graduate in the top 5% of his class.

  • Lily Yu
    Operations Manager

    Born in China, Lily grew up speaking Mandarin. She was introduced to English when she was 9 through English as a Second Language classes and is now completely bilingual. With a love of science, Lily first chose the major of Molecular Cellular Biology; she then added Management and Entrepreneurship with a minor in Spanish. She will graduate in the top 5% of her class.
