In 1979, Alan attained 100% off-grid sustainability at his home on Vashon Island. He is a serial entrepreneur and inventor with over 30 years of experience. His background in renewable energy, industrial automation and networking led to the establishment of Questar Energy Systems in 2009.

Greg's life as an entrepreneur started at the age of 20 when he decided to start a music instruction business in order to pay his college tuition. He earned a Bachelor’s of Science in Physics from the University of Washington. His coursework included Atmospheric Physics and Climatology, Electrical Systems Design and Development, and Mathematical Modeling. Greg also helped his fellow teachers start the Eastside Music Company in Issaquah, WA

With over thirty-five years of experience, Mr. Hughes has developed the insights, understanding, and relationships that are vital to growth and management of early stage companies. He worked for 10 years with IBM and for more than 15 years with start-up companies. Twenty-one years of his career was in Silicon Valley. Three of the start-ups with which he worked became public companies (Western Micro, Versant, and Echelon).

Ed sold his first software product at age 15. He has extensive Agile software management experience. He developed several key applications with big data, User Interface and security having worked at Microsoft, Google, Ubermind and Deloitte, such as the project lead on the latest Alaska Airlines iPhone App.
