    Melissa began creating chic fashion out of old, worn jeans. In San Francisco, she “refashioned” men and women’s clothing, becoming the go-to designer for bands like the Grateful Dead. In New York
    City, she introduced antique tatted lace into fine cloth and created a unique boutique line that gained critical acclaim, designing jackets, shirts and dresses that Ralph Lauren brought into his collection. Melissa is for the people… for the planet.

    After selling Fantaseas, a 20mil manufacturing business, Mr. Zarubica served as Exec VP, Global Sales & Marketing for BCBG. Zarubica then became president of Hudson Jeans and Blue Concept, whose denim labels include Yanuk, Taverniti and Antik. Tadd then founded and launched Denim of Virtue. As a consultant, Zarubica has worked with established as well as emerging design companies including Liz Claiborne, Alternative Apparel and American Eagle.

She has traveled extensively to Mexico and China, supervising technical design, fit, and production. She has developed a variety of new denim washes, used today in factories around the world. Robain is also experienced in showroom sales, having worked closely with buyers throughout her career.
