Company Summary

The site provides individuals, community groups, companies, organisations and the government (mainly local authorities) a platform to come together and work on tangible green projects. Project Dirt was set up to make green living easier and more understandable and to facilitate sustainable activity taking place. As of 2012 it had 5,000 members.

  • Mark Shearer
    Co-Founder

    Mark is a chartered surveyor, having graduated from Reading University and then qualified at Cushman and Wakefield. Mark set up Kudos Investments, a niche retail investment agency, which has transacted over £150 million of property since 2006 (predominantly with CBRE Investors and The Prudential). Mark is one of Boris Johnson’s “Leaders of Sustainability” and a co-­founder of Project Dirt.

  • Nick Gardner

    Nick is an environmental consultant with a background in the community/ voluntary sectors, and helping government understand the impact of investing in community projects.Having graduated with a Masters from Cambridge University, he worked at SQW where he led the consultations on WWF’s retrofit for the future programmes, HEFCE’s carbon targets for the higher education sector amongst others.

    Non Executive Director

    Richard Goat is Project Dirt’s
    non-­executive director and works as a day-­to-­day advisor. Following a corporate career in IBM, Richard has seen CEO of a number of successful start­‐up companies in software and consultancy.
