Company Summary
The drag produced by class 8 trucks requires two-thirds of the engine’s output in order to maintain a highway speed. A reduction in a quarter of the aerodynamic drag which affects large highway vehicles is thought to be possible. Which can save a truck owner/fleet almost $10K annually on fuel, which is a significant number.
Our patented active flow control system which utilizes plasma actuators was developed at the University of Notre Dame. This system is capable of generating a body force which controls flow separation from a vehicle. By controlling flow separation, the drag force on a vehicle is minimized. Essentially, a vehicle can be streamlined independent of its actual shape.
The company envisions to implement our patented technology in multiple applications such as ground vehicle applications (Motor sports), Munitions, Construction of Skyscrapers, locomotive vehicles etc.
