The idea of Pikow was born to address the growing problem that independent boutiques and concept stores face with the digitalization of retail. Due to a variety of reasons, including limited staff resources and a lack of technical expertise, independent boutique owners have not been able to embrace the digitalization of retail and are consequently unable to compete with global e-commerce giants. The team decided to pilot the concept in France.
