  • COO and Chief Educator

After earning a Masters in Contemplative Education and teaching high school History and Drama for several years, I left to co-found ActiveGrade, a standards-based gradebook to improve student mastery tracking and feedback. Most recently I was VP of Strategy and Business Development for Haiku Learning, one of the first cloud-based learning management system designed for K-12. I helped grow the business nearly 400% over two years

  • Programming since I was 10, I built an early web-based video game, worked for Microsoft and taught high school Math and CS classes. I left teaching in 2010 to co-found ActiveGrade, a early-to-market solution for Standards-Based Grading.

  • VP of Design

I am a web designer proudly based out of the Creative Corridor in Iowa City, Iowa. After years of working in a handful of print and web design roles I co-founded ActiveGrade, an online standards-based gradebook which was acquired by Haiku Learning in 2012.
