Founder and CEODr. Brian Jacobs is the founder and CEO of panOpen. He also founded Akademos, an online bookstore and textbook marketplace, and currently sits on its board as Chairman. As an academic from Cornell, Brian directly experienced the inefficiencies of the textbook industry. He saw that emerging technologies could lower costs and improve student learning outcomes. Brian holds an M.A. and Ph.D. from Cornell University.

Chief Product OfficerJosh previously founded Highlighter.com, a self-publishing platform aimed at Higher Education, that included learning analytics, social learning tools and mobile technologies for faculty and students. Highlighter.com was a member of Seattle’s inaugural class of Techstars in 2010. At panOpen, his role is to drive the roadmap behind our product by working directly faculty and students as well as with our development teams. Josh holds a BS from ASU.
