Julie Adams came up with the idea for Pakems after leaving her 18-year career as a corporate lawyer. While on her sabbatical, she went on a ski vacation. One day while she was enjoying her après-ski experience except for her uncomfortable ski boots, she turned to a friend and said she wished she had packable shoes with her. We have proven there is a market for transitional footwear, with distribution in the outdoor, fashion, and travel markets.
