The concept for O&T emerged from a set of potions Melissa made for her daughter. After writing her first business plan in 2010, and making early prototypes at her kitchen table, Melissa now serves as director of creative development and branding, where she draws on her extensive background in art direction, marketing and graphic design. For fun, Melissa sings in the band Orange Sky, where she enjoys rocking out with her guitar-playing husband.

Sara joined the team as an equal partner after she became enamored of the Opal & Twig concepts and saw how joyfully her two sons responded to them. As VP of First Impact New York, Ltd. and a veteran of 12 years in cosmetics and personal-care production, Bumby adds immensely to the partnership by contributing proven expertise in the areas of sourcing, product development, quality control, supply-chain management and business oversight.

Jack currently serves as a business development advisor for a handful of small-to-medium start-ups in western New York. He served as a Venture Associate with Trillium group in Rochester for over 4 years, and has also co-founded and advised many successful start-up ventures in the past, including New Scale Technologies and Isoflux Incorporated.

David brings global expertise from complex multi-million dollar companies and creative thinking from his work with several start-up programs. Dave has an extensive background in General Management, R&D, Marketing, Operations, Business Development, M&A, Product/Services Commercialization, Strategy, Partnerships, Sales channels, and Sales support. His career started with over 10 yrs of R&D leadership successes, progressing to business leadership.
