Dr. Espy-Wilson has deep expertise in speech production, speech recognition and speech segregation as well as all aspects of digital signal processing. She has joint appointments as a Professor in the Electrical & Computer Engineering Department and in the Institute for Systems Research at the University of Maryland. She heads the Speech Communication Lab. She earned her MS, EE, and PhD in EE from MIT and a BS, in EE from Stanford.

Twenty years wireless and telecom industry experience in sales, business development, strategy and marketing. Experience at both established companies and startups, including Nextel, Sprint Nextel, SkyTel/Velocita and TerreStar Networks. BA, French Language & Literature, Georgetown.
